Or actually the purpose is ancient: As a social beast human beings have always had a desire to both stand out and be part of a social context at the same time. How do we as designers develop product that can fit this desire and how can we develop platforms that enable new social patterns to emerge and possibly novel social actions to impact the world. |

In this blog I will write about myself, design and that projects and events I participate in.
Meaningful Visions for Life is a design consultancy focusing on developing products, systems, services and processes for clients working in the merge between digital and physical market places.
I am Martin Ludvigsen, a designer, researcher and explorer of social interaction, design of technology, products and their systems. My focus right now is on design consulting and developing this design focus within the perspective of collective intelligence.
I have concluded a PhD-project within the Center for Interactive Spaces, a multi disciplinary research center with among others computer scientist and interaction designers from the Aarhus School of Architecture like myself.

Prix Möbius
The iFloor has once again been distinguished as a really good prototype. We have been invited to be among the finalists for the Prix Möbius Nordica to take place in Helsinki later this month on the 29th, and hopefully we will be among the very best designs that will go on to the final finals in France later this year.
The Prix Möbius is an international competition for interactive art and design.
BTW: if anyone is interested: the test with using www.mvl.dk/blog as a newsportal revealed three loyal readers. Thank you for that and stay tuned - more niceness will follow.

Hurra again for Kaspar
Hurra for Kaspar and CMIS
Kaspar has now upgraded my website to run CMIS 0.2. Lots of new features have been added. Read more about it here.
It is truly fantastic to use the system. It' is as if I'm making a website, but totally without the hassle of code and technology. Well not completely - I have updated the layout myself, but what Kaspar just did with the database seemed more like volapyk than anything else.

This part of research is actually not that much fun. Especially when you are not on top of your litterature. But it still is the way to get smart. Even with the internet and all.
